Fashion 3peat: Chambray Top

That spring weather was a real tease last week. Thanks for that, Mother Nature. Back to rain/snow mixes and 30 degrees. Oh well, typical Iowa spring for you. I’m choosing to ignore all that winter madness and focus on spring. You want to know what says spring to me? Chambray. I hope chambray never becomes dated, because I love it so much. Are you sitting there wondering, “HUH? Chambray? What is this chick talking about?” No worries. According to, chambray is: “a fine cloth of cotton, silk, or linen, commonly of plain weave with a colored warp and white weft.” In other words, chambray is the more relaxed, easy going, younger sister to denim.

Chambray tops are all over right now. I got mine at Old Navy several seasons ago. You can currently find them at: Old Navy, GapForever 21…the list goes on and on. I recommend the shirt from ON because it comes in regular, tall and petite. There are also some nice plus sized options at Old Navy as well. I love it when a brand successfully accommodates all shapes and sizes – from petite to plus. Kudos to you, Old Navy!

Option #1: OH HELLO casual Sunday! Where have you been all my life?

Sweater Knit Joggers: wearing in large.

Option #2: Weekend errands or anything that involves a side of casual style…like day drinking. Patio beers = my favorite outdoor activity.

Denim, size up: Target.

Option #3: Tie it up over a maxi dress or skirt. This would look great with a black maxi too. In fact, I have been on the hunt for a basic black maxi. If you find one, please let me know! This dress is really old, but I bet you have something similar in your own closet!

Another successful 3peat in the books! What items in your closet do you need help styling in different ways? I’d love to help!

See ya next time.
