5 Comfortable Yet Stylish Outfits to Wear on Thanksgiving

I know, I know. Two posts in one week. Who dis? I’m going to cut right to the chase here. Thanksgiving is less than one week away. Eeeek! The clock is ticking! I already shared with you some ideas for your tablescape. Today it’s all about the outfits and I’m sharing 5 comfortable, yet stylish Thanksgiving outfits that don’t involve constricting waistbands. Because Thanksgiving is a day for feasting, not fasting. Now, don’t be surprised if I post a selfie on turkey day in head to toe sweatpants. I am, after all, The Chic(ish) Chick (emphasis on the ish in this scenario), so I might totally look like a scrub on Thanksgiving. It’s hard telling. Luckily, I have a super casual relationship with my family and could show up wearing my painting clothes and nobody would really care. Or…I might show up in a swing dress and leggings. We’ll see which way the wind blows me that day.

I realize that you might have a different Thanksgiving situation and not everyone can just show up looking like a scrub. Some families are more formal, some of you may need to impress your in-laws, and some of you might be meeting new families for the first time. I’m not here to judge you, I’m just here to help you. Before digging into these fabulous outfits, I must first share with you my criteria for the perfect Thanksgiving outfit.

#1. You must be able to nap in said outfit. Napping is key after eating all that turkey. But let’s be honest, is it really the turkey that’s making you sleepy, is it really your hangover or is it really your Uncle Larry’s old high school football stories? Just sayin…

#2. Your outfit must include an elastic waistband. AKA s-t-r-e-t-c-h-y pants. No denim allowed. I don’t know about you, but I generally can’t go back for thirds in my denim. Yes I said thirds. It is a feast day, as I pointed out earlier.

Much of what I have linked below is on mega sale today. So, let’s get on with it, shall we?

Option #1: Probably my fave. The pure definition of comfortable yet stylish.

Sweater: wearing here in size medium, available in the camel color in L-XXL and several other colors/sizes.

Striped tunic: wearing here in size large, available in white in XS-XL. Also available in green and black.

Leggings: wearing here in size large, available in XXS-XXL in black, navy and charcoal.

Flats: TTS and SO FREAKING COMFORTABLE!

Option #2: Guys, this is pajamas disguised as a dress. I’m telling you. So soft and comfortable, I might actually wear it as pajamas.

Dress: wearing here in large although a medium would have worked too. Available in XXS-XL.

A similar style dress, I have this one in medium. Super soft as well.

Leggings: wearing here in large, available in XXS-XXL in black, navy and charcoal.

Jacket: wearing here in medium, available XS-XXL in a variety of colors.

Shoes are last season’s Ed by Ellen.

Option #3: Yes, this is the same green vest from fashion 3peat several months ago. I have worn the crap out of the sucker and I couldn’t recommend it more.

Vest: wearing here in large, available in S-XL in olive, sangria and camel.

Striped tunic: wearing here in size large, available in white in XS-XL. Also available in green and black.

Leggings: wearing here in large, available in XXS-XXL in black, navy and charcoal.

Booties are last season’s Toms.

Option #4: A lovely pop of color and a nice break from neutrals, if I do say so myself.

Sweater: wearing here in medium, available in XS-XXL in a variety of colors.

Tank: wearing here in medium tall. I have this tank in small tall. They run large so both small and medium work for me. Available in XS-XXL and also in tall and petite in gray, maroon and black.

Necklace: Rocksbox.

Leggings: wearing here in large, available in XXS-XXL in black, navy and olive.

Shoes: purchased last fall from Target.

Option #5: The “I’m too cool for this party” look.

Ponte leggings: wearing here in XL. I debated between sizes on these FOR HOURS, swapping between the L and XL at least a thousand times. I chose to keep these a tad looser than I normally wear my leggings. Available in XS-XXL and also petite.

Sweater: this is old as the hills. It’s from Victoria Secret back when they sold actual clothes online. I have linked a similar one here for you that would be just as lovely. Available in XXS-XXL in a variety of colors.

Shoes are last season’s Ed by Ellen.

And there you have it, my faithful reader. 5 comfortable, yet stylish outfits you can wear on Thanksgiving that don’t involve constricting waistbands. Not to worry, I won’t tell you to go easy on the pie this year. Because one more bite couldn’t hurt…

See ya next time!
