Do Biore Strips really work? Um, yes…yes they do.

I have high maintenance skin. I really struggled with acne as a teenager. I still get breakouts occasionally. Yes, I wash my face every night, drink plenty of water and get plenty of sleep. Still, I struggle with a variety of skin issues and one of them happens to be blackheads. Bummer, right? I have been using Biore strips since I was a teenager. I think everyone needs to give them a try, unless you have gorgeous porcelain skin with non-existent pores. I have friends with this skin type – jealous!
The pictures below may gross you out. You were warned. The first picture is the box I generally buy. It’s a combo pack for your nose and forehead. I don’t happen to use them on my forehead, but you may choose to do so. Instead, I cut the forehead strip in half and place on my chin, which is more of a problem area for me.
Step 1: Wash your face if you are wearing makeup.
Step 2: Peel the backing off the strip and lay tacky side up on your bathroom counter top. You don’t want the tacky side sitting on the surface because that is going to be the side you stick to your face. If you would like to use this on your chin, then cut one strip in half and peel the backing off that as well. You can use the entire strip for your forehead if needed.
Step 3: Run a washcloth under hot water until it is completely soaked. Get it as hot as you can stand it. Rinse it out and fold so it is in a small square that covers your nose and chin (include forehead if desired). Let this sit on your face until the washcloth cools off. Repeat this several times. The heat will open your pores.
Step 4: Wet the nose/chin/forehead areas of the face with warm water. Make sure this is plenty wet. Dry hands and apply strips to face – tacky side directly on the skin. Smooth out the areas so that there are no bubbles. Take a dry towel to push into the skin and soak up any excess water on the face.
Step 5. Let this dry for approximately 20 minutes. You want it to feel hard. SLOWLY (it will sting a little) remove the nose strip from side to side. If you do this slowly enough and look in the mirror you will see all of the gunk coming from from your face. It works best on my face to remove the chin strip top to bottom. Remember, you must do this slowly. You may see a little residue from the strip in the cracks of your nose, so just wipe this away with the wet wash cloth.
You will be amazed at what comes off your face – SO GROSS. I promise you, it is oddly satisfying. You can thank me later. Here’s what comes off my face – weekly. That’s right, I do this about once a week. If they go out of business I will have a mental breakdown. The proof is in the picture. See for yourself.
See ya on the next post.
