My family went bananas for these Boursin, bacon & caramelized onion bites and I know yours will too! Everyone always asks for these phyllo shell recipes and they go quickly at parties. You won’t believe how easy they are to make! The best part is I have made several variations so you can easily change up the flavor depending on the crowd or what you’re in the mood for. They are so tasty!! You’ve just got to try them.

Boursin, Bacon and Caramelized Onion Bites
Ingredients
- 4-5 slices of bacon, cooked and chopped
- 2 white or yellow onions, sliced
- 1 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 1 Tbsp butter
- 1 package garlic Boursin cheese bites or other spreadable garlic cheese
- 1 package phyllo shells
- fresh chives to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Caramelize onions with extra virgin olive oil and butter.
- While the onions caramelize, cook bacon in a separate pan. Set aside to cool. Chop bacon into small pieces.
- To each shell, add one Boursin bite, a few pieces of bacon and caramelized onions.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 5-6 minutes.
- Top with chopped chives. Enjoy!

WHERE TO FIND PHYLLO SHELLS
You can find these phyllo shells at most major grocery stores in the freezer section by the phyllo dough or pie crusts. If you can’t find them, you can substitute phyllo dough. When subbing phyllo dough, simply thaw the dough according to package instructions. Cut into even bite size squares that are big enough to fit into a mini muffin pan. Use 1/3-1/2 the thickness of the dough (it separates into sheets) for each piece. I wouldn’t recommend using the entire thickness – it’s too much dough. Press each square into muffin cavity and fill as described above. One last suggestion is to use wonton or egg roll wrappers. Bake per the instructions above for phyllo and wonton wrappers.
I hope you love these Boursin, bacon and caramelized onion bites as much as my family does! You can find more flavor variations here such as spinach artichoke and jalapeno popper.
