Ah, the holidays. It’s either your favorite time of year, or your most dreaded time of the year. It all depends on your perspective. On one hand, it provides a nice break from the daily grind to spend time with friends and family. On the other hand, the stores are crowded and so is your budget. So, in an effort to save a few bucks, you scour the Interwebs in search of the best Black Friday deals hoping to score the latest Hatchimal for your kid, who will likely be more entertained by the packaging than the actual critter itself. Tis the season!
Now, I know a lot of you will be hosting in the next six weeks and it’s my goal to provide you with some inspiration for your next get-together. I know how important it is to get the most bang for your holiday buck, so I bring to you today a brand new type of 3peat. This one is of the home decor variety. I’ll be showing you how to transition a tablescape that you can display year-round into the holidays by adding just a few pieces. Some of these items you probably already have laying around!
#1: The Year Round Tablescape. This one is pretty perfect for any time of the year. All of the items in this first tablescape I purchased months ago. Some of the items are still available and some, unfortunately are not. I have linked similar items below. I’m a big proponent of using what you already have. The candlesticks, for example are currently on my mantle but I took them down to use for the table. The eucalyptus leaves? In my entryway and on my mantle. Use things you already have so that you’re not constantly out buying new.
#2: Hello, Thanksgiving! Staying neutral with your decor is a great way to transition into holidays because all you really need to do is add a few items, like these pumpkins. I have been on the hunt for some gold pumpkins for awhile now. When I couldn’t find any I loved, I turned to some plastic pumpkins on clearance at Michaels and spray painted them gold. I kept the rest of the tablescape the same so that I could re-use everything. While you can spray paint any plastic pumpkin you’d like, these from Amazon would be lovely as is. No painting required.
Don’t have any gold chargers? No problem. I think it looks just as lovely without.
Want to get even more festive? Add these fairy lights. GUYS! These lights are everything I hoped they would be and more. They are battery operated and you can turn them on/off by using THE REMOTE! You know what that means? You can turn your lights on without messing up your decor. Check her out – she does amazing things with thrifting! Want to know what else I discovered? You can buy batteries at The Dollar Tree. That’s right. They come in packs of 4…FOR A DOLLAR. The best thing about this is that these fairy lights require 3 AA batteries. When the holiday season is over, you can remove your batteries and not have to worry about corrosion or a wasted costly expense like batteries.
#3: Christmas Vibes. I love this one because you likely have a lot of these things already. I used a bunch of glass vases and mason jars that I have accumulated over the years and filled them with a variety of fairy lights (link above), and a variety of gold sleigh bells and gold ornaments that I picked up at The Dollar Tree. You can also find some amazing glass vases at The Dollar Tree if you don’t have any on hand. Go there, I promise. Don’t forget to buy batteries. And the table runner? You’re gonna think this is cray…it’s a scarf. That, my friends, is why I’m chic(ish). And yes, I’ll be wearing the scarf around my neck too.
I had so much fun with the first ever decor 3peat! I hope this helps you find some inspiration for your own tablescapes as we approach the holidays. I’d love to see yours! Send them to me or tag me in them on social media!
See ya on the next post!
