Oh hello again! Welcome back to Fashion 3peat. I’m glad you’re here. This week I’m talking about styling one outfit, three ways by simply switching up your accessories. You don’t need a lot of money to do this. As you can see, I’m wearing a very basic black swing tank and destructed denim that you’ve seen me in a hundred times already. Sorry, but as I’ve said before, I’m ballin’ on a budget and currently on a shopping cleanse. Remixing your current wardrobe is a great skill to have that will serve you well for years to come. Today, I’m showing you how to do just that. I’m not out buying new clothes every day…although that wouldn’t be a bad way to spend my day and I definitely wouldn’t object if someone came along and decided to bankroll my life just because so I could do just that. Moving on…
I want to call your attention to the first two photos below. I snapped these so that I could illustrate a point. Get creative with how you wear your clothes so that they flatter your figure in the best possible way. As you can see in the first photo, my legs look like tree stumps. Not cute. That’s because my tank hits at a super thick area of my thigh. Don’t get bent out of shape, whining into the mirror, “I HATE MY THIGHS!” It’s not your thighs, it’s the clothing. Keep scrolling…

This tank is available in regular, tall and petite XS-XXL. Wearing here in medium tall.
A simple half tuck (a side knot works too) and BOOM – SO much more flattering, don’t you think? See, look how much more fun I’m having! It’s so easy and requires absolutely no skill or tailoring. I even tried to stand in the same pose to prove I wasn’t practicing any iPhone trickery. On to the styling…
Option #1: Mules, animal print clutch, gold jewelry. To me, this says, “Hello, happy hour. I’ve missed you…” The clutch alone is practically dragging me out the door to the nearest watering hole.
Swing tank – wearing in medium tall. Available in XS-XXL, petite, regular and tall.
Mules – TTS.
Denim – size up.
Older pieces: Necklace/Evereve, Clutch/Express, Ring/Bohme, Bracelet/Banana Republic
Pro tip: Buy your tanks in tall for some extra length to give you room to tuck or knot…even if you don’t consider yourself a tall person, give it a try.
Option #2: Think running errands or patio beers – my favorite of all the weekend activities. This would be great for anytime you need an extra layer…like when the sun is setting on your outdoor dinner and you start to feel a little chilly. A plaid shirt is also a nice change of pace from a cardigan and looks way cooler tied around your waist.
Older pieces: Plaid/Old Navy, Kate Spade Crossbody/Nordstrom Rack, Converse Sneakers/Famous Footwear, Watch/Michaels (yeah I was surprised too)
Option #3: My personal favorite, because this screams A) summer and/or B) vacation!!! Definitely try the side knot if you are hanging on to some extra baby weight or taco weight around the mid-section. I also love the side knot because it creates a ruching effect, which adds another layer of visual interest.
Older pieces: Necklace/Loft, Clutch, Bracelet/Francesca’s, Sandals/Famous Footwear
As always, I hope this was helpful! Which look is your favorite?
See ya next time.
