Fashion 3peat: Denim Jacket

A good friend of mine recently said to me, “I have a 3peat request. I have a nice denim jacket in my closet with the tags still on. I never know what to wear it with! Help!”

*Runs to closet and immediately starts to selfie.*

Option #1: [Chant like a cheerleader] ‘D-R-E-S-S-E-S! A dress is the best so you’re not a hot mess!’ Who am I kidding? I am not a cheerleader. I can barely stand up after sitting cross-legged on the floor for more than 5 minutes. Back off, I am working on that. Anyway, a denim jacket will work with virtually any dress that doesn’t fall into the cocktail or ball gown categories. Sorry ladies, I know you’re disappointed, but save the ball gown for another day.

Jacket: Similar here from Old Navy.

Dress: Old dress from Loft. Both Loft and Old Navy have similar swing dresses.

Shoes: Old from Target.

Option #2: White denim, colored denim and chinos…oh my! I will reference The Wizard of Oz at any opportunity I get. Fun fact: I played Dorothy in my second grade play! I actually blame Dorothy for my love of clothes…I’m sorry, but those ruby slippers are freaking fabulous. I adore white pants for summer. Toss on a denim jacket and boom – perfect for cool spring evenings or chilly summer A/C!

White denim: I love the options Loft has right now. Wearing here in size 12.

Tank: Wearing in medium tall from Old Navy.

Mules: TTS from Target.

Option #3: Skirts, shorts, and skorts (yup, they’re back). Are you a mom on the go? Then you most def need an outfit like this. I picked this skirt up at Athleta last summer. It has shorts built in, so is perfect for chasing around your tiny humans.

Skirt: Similar, wearing in size large from Athleta.

And there you have it, my friends. Fashion 3peat: denim jacket.

I hope this has solved all your denim jacket conundrums. Conundrum also happens to be the name of a fabulous wine should you get the opportunity…

See ya next time!
