If you’ve ever wondered how to make dried oranges for a wreath, holiday decor, a garland or centerpiece, this post is for you! It is incredibly easy and a fun activity to do around the holidays! The sky is the limit, so use your creativity on how you’d like to use dried oranges in your holiday decor.

WHAT TO MAKE WITH DRIED ORANGES
While I mentioned a few ideas above, I have used dried oranges in many holiday projects and home decor. The example below is how I used the dried oranges in the centerpiece of a tablescape (table setting) which would be perfect for a fall dinner party, Thanksgiving or Friendsgiving. Simply place a garland or seasonal picks/stems down the center of a table and add in oranges in sections of 3 as well as pinecones and white berry picks.

DRIED ORANGE WREATH
You can also use dried oranges to make a wreath! You will find the shopping list and link to recreate this wreath below. I am including dried oranges in the list in case you want to take a short cut. Hey, no shame in that!
1 1/2 – 2 bags of oranges
18 inch wreath frame
Hot glue gun
Glue sticks
Ribbon (to make a bow)
Parchment paper
Baking sheets
HOW TO DRY ORANGES IN THE OVEN
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Slice oranges into even circles. You will want to slice these as thin as you can – 1/4 inch thickness or less. Bake at 250 degrees for 3 1/2 – 4 hours, flipping oranges every hour.
For the wreath below, I wanted a very organic look with various shades of oranges. To achieve that, I baked one sheet of oranges slightly longer for a darker appearance. Please note that the smaller pieces of oranges will dry or bake more quickly, so keep an eye on those if you want a more uniform look.

When oranges have dried according to your shade preference, remove from the oven and let cool. Line a work space with paper bags to avoid getting hot glue on your surface. Heat up a glue gun and start gluing the oranges on the wreath frame in an over lapping pattern.
In hindsight, I could have definitely used a smaller wreath frame, which would have required fewer oranges. I do love how it turned out, though. When the glue has dried, add a ribbon or bow and hang in your desired space.
