How to Transition Your Wardrobe into Fall

I asked my 9 year old niece the other day when she goes back to school. She proudly exclaimed without batting an eye, “In a couple months!” Haha, wishful thinking kid, but I like your style. It’s impossible to be anywhere (in real life or on the web) right now without seeing something about back to school. The Target dollar spot is stuffed to the brim with doodads for teachers and retailers around the country are blasting out ‘must haves’ for back to school and all things fall. Even my friends are longing for cozy sweaters, booties and pumpkin spice lattes. Hey, I love a good legging/sweater/latte combo as much as the next basic chick, but I intend to squeeze every last drop out of summer if it kills me.

The cold hard truth is that it’s time to start thinking about how to transition into fall because whether or not I want to admit it, summer will be gone before we know it. Don’t freak out, I’m here to help. Below are some great pieces that can easily transition from summer to fall and even into (GASP!) winter. If any of these pieces speak to you as they did me, use code chicish15 for 15% off your entire purchase regardless of what you choose to purchase.

*Thank you to BBB for gifting me these beautiful pieces.*

#1. The Black Striped Ruffle Sleeve Tie Cardy. Wearing here in size small. I am definitely not a small but these run quite large, so if you are plus size, you will definitely be fine ordering in S-L sizing. Trust me on this. If you know me personally, you know I have a little bit of a stripes problem. I love stripes. They go with everything and never, I repeat never, go out of style. And, if you are afraid of prints, stripes are an excellent way to get started. This cardy would be so cute right now with a dress, literally any denim and even leggings. GET YOURSELF ONE NOW!

#2. The Black Multi-Stripe Colorblock Top. Wearing here in medium. Available in S-L. You guys! I love this because it can be worn as a boat neck OR off one shoulder. One shoulder is so much better than off both shoulders in my opinion because you can wear a normal bra (that has removable straps) with it. Just hook your right shoulder strap to the hook in the back on the left side and ditch one strap completely. This will keep everything in place without having to mess with the dreaded strapless bra. Annnnnnnd, you’re welcome!

#3. The Camo Vest. Wearing here in large, but a medium would have worked too. Available in XS-XXXL. A little birdy told me this item would be restocked soon, so please check back or sign up to receive an email notification when your size is restocked. I saved the best for last here. This will easily become your year round work horse piece. I love this for so many reasons! The first is that you can try the camo trend without going full-on jacket or pants. The second is that you can wear this now, into fall and well into the winter months. SO MANY styling options that I plan to feature this in a Fashion 3peat soon. Wear now with a dress like I have below, layer with a tee and jeans or even a sweater and leggings. Much like a jacket, I love love love a vest. It adds texture and visual interest to any outfit in addition to camouflaging a midsection. The third…well, do you even need a third? I just told you a vest will camouflage your midsection. You will regret not buying this guy.

I’m also loving on these goodies:

More stripes…shocking! Available in S-L.

Orange Strappy Sandals Available in 5.5-10.

Blue Statement Necklace The cheapest and easiest way to spruce up any outfit is with statement jewelry. This necklace is callin’ my name!

See ya on the next post!
