If you love lemon, you’re going to adore these lemon curd swirls with cream cheese icing. They are absolutely divine. Even my husband, who hates lemon flavored treats, really enjoyed these. Now that’s saying something! They are the perfect addition to your next coffee date, brunch, book club or card club. Or simply treat yourself to something delicious this weekend!

Lemon Curd Swirls
Ingredients
- 1 sheet puff pastry
- 1/4 cup lemon curd
- 1 egg for egg wash
Frosting
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tsp half & half
- 1.5 ounces cream cheese (cut from a block)
- 1/2 tsp fresh squeezed lemon juice
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Thaw 1 sheet of puff pastry until pliable.
- Cut puff pastry sheet in half (lengthwise).
- Spread lemon curd on one puff pastry sheet.
- Lay the other puff pastry on top of the lemon curd mixture so that it is sandwiched between the puff pastry sheets.
- Using a sharp knife, cut puff pastry into 6 even strips (cut the long side so you have long strips rather than short strips). See photo below.
- Twist each strip and roll into swirls (see photos below), making sure to tuck the ends under the swirls so it stays intact while baking.
- Brush each with egg wash (one egg beaten with 1 tsp water).
- Place on a parchment paper lined baking sheet. Bake at 400 degrees for approximately 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and pastry is cooked through. Bake time may vary as every oven is different, so check at 17 minutes.
- While swirls are baking, make frosting.
- Beat together: 1/2 cup powdered sugar, 1/2 tsp vanilla, 2 tsp half & half, 1.5 ounces cream cheese and 1/2 tsp lemon juice with a hand mixer until smooth.
- When swirls have cooled, drizzle with frosting.
- Serve and enjoy!

CAN THIS RECIPE BE DOUBLED?
Yes! These lemon curd swirls can absolutely be doubled. The above recipe is for 1 pastry sheet, which makes 6. However, you can easily double the recipe to make 12. In fact, I highly recommend it! 🙂
LEMON CURD NOTES
I used a store bought lemon curd for this recipe. While you can make your own, I really enjoy store bought lemon curd. Stonewall Kitchen and Bonne Maman are both excellent brands. You can’t go wrong with either option. You can typically find them in the jam aisle or specialty foods section at the grocery store. You might also find them by the deli with the specialty pickled items and charcuterie.
Not into lemon curd but curious about other flavor options? No matter if you’re in the mood for sweet or savory, I’ve got you covered. You can find all my flavor options below including blueberry cream cheese, white chocolate raspberry, spinach artichoke and French onion. All delish!

I just wanted to let everyone know that was asking about making these ahead of time. I made them the night before put them in the refrigerator to bake the next day and they turned out great. I also put the leftovers in the refrigerator and we had them the next morning and they were good both cold and heated up in the microwave for the next day treat. These are absolutely fabulous and easy to make. I did them for a bridal shower and everyone loved them. I also made the blueberry cream cheese swirls as well.
