I am not kidding. I have spent more money than I care to admit at Old Navy this month. Old Navy clothes are pretty cheap so don’t ask me how I did this. I’m just really good at shopping.
I am telling you, they are killing it in all kinds of ways! Sweaters, jackets and jeans – oh my! At one point, my online shopping cart was up to $431…out of control! Sometimes I see the total BEFORE I submit and start to sweat. Literal sweating. Don’t panic, at that point, you go back in and decide what you really want and delete what you can live without. It’s also never a bad idea to order in two sizes and return what doesn’t work. And don’t forget to keep in mind, not everything you order is going to work out. Clothes are funny that way.
It’s no secret that I shop online A lot. One frustration I have with my city is their stores never seem to have the best items and therefore can only get them online. WHY is that?!? It’s all the stores too. When I walk into my local ON, I find nothing. Online however has been a different story.
As a rule of thumb, I generally over-order and order in two sizes. In my estimation, I spend approximately 50% of my life returning things. The girls that work at Loft probably duck and cover when I walk in their store. If you aren’t diligent about returning what you won’t wear, do NOT adopt this method. You gotta be real with yourself.
Old Navy also offers tall/petite sizes in many of their items, which I love because I’m tall and sometimes find shirts/pants falling short – thus looking like a modern day Huckleberry Finn. Not cute. Below is an example of some things I have purchased recently. See for yourself. I would never lie to you, my faithful reader!
Sweater: wearing in size M (link no longer available)
Jeans: wearing in size 12 (link no longer available)
Tee: wearing here in L, but I also have it in burgundy in size M (link no longer available)
*Purse (Francesca’s) shoes (Von Mar) and sunglasses (Target) are all old.
Here is the same sweater in gray. If you’ve got any junk in the trunk, it will hide it. Disclaimer: not in any way suggesting you hide that butt! FYI – it took me a good 20 minutes to take one acceptable selfie.
See ya on the next post!
