Pizza Logs

Equipment

  • Air Fryer

Ingredients

  • 1 package wonton wrappers
  • 1 package pepperoni slices
  • 1 package string cheese
  • 2-3 Tbsp butter
  • 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 pinch red pepper flakes to taste
  • grated Parmesan cheese to taste, for topping
  • marinara optional, for dipping
  • hot honey optional, for drizzling

Instructions

  • Cut string cheese into thirds.
  • Wet the outside edges of wonton wrappers with water using your fingers. This will help the wonton stick together.
  • Place 2-3 slices of pepperoni on the wonton.
  • Place 1 piece of cheese on the pepperoni.
  • Roll the wonton wrapper up, tucking in the sides as you go. Make sure to close any holes by pinching the wonton wrapper tightly and sealing with water if needed. If you skip this, the cheese will ooze out of the wonton wrapper during the cooking process. It's very important you get a tight seal. See photos below for how I start to roll. You will want to start with a diamond shape, which works better for tucking.
  • Preheat your air fryer to 400 degrees. Then air fry wontons at 400 degrees for 7-8 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Melt butter. Mix melted butter with 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning, 1/4 tsp garlic power, and 1 pinch red pepper flakes.
  • Top all pizza logs with as much grated Parmesan cheese as you like.
  • Dip in marinara or top with hot honey.
  • Enjoy!

NOTES

I noted this above in the recipe, but it’s worth repeating. It is really important that you seal all wonton holes and edges. If you don’t, the cheese will ooze out during the cooking process. This takes a little practice, but you’ll get the hang of it quickly.

These pizza logs are bite sized! If you want bigger pizza logs, use egg roll wrappers instead of wonton wrappers. You will be able to fit a bigger piece of cheese and more pepperoni in each one. Just repeat the above steps. You may need to air fry a bit longer with egg roll wrappers, so just keep an eye on them.

WHAT TO DO WITH LEFTOVER WONTON WRAPPERS

If you find yourself with leftover wonton wrappers, try a new flavor! Add some diced green peppers and onions for a veggie pizza option. You can also grab your favorite store bought dip and add to the wontons. Think spinach artichoke or Buffalo chicken! You really can’t go wrong and the sky is the limit on what you can create.

I hope you love these pizza logs as much as we do! They got an 11/10 rating from my husband, so you know they’re good!

Love this idea. What if I don’t have an air fryer?

You can fry in a pan with oil or bake in the oven. I haven’t tested the oven timing but I would start at 400 degrees for 8 minutes and go from there.
