These pumpkin shaped deviled eggs are going to be the hit of all your fall gatherings! They are just as adorable as they are delicious. The roasted red peppers not only give these deviled eggs a nice orange color, but also an unexpected boost of flavor. Make them for fall brunch, Friendsgiving or Thanksgiving. Pumpkin Shaped Deviled Eggs
Equipment
- food processor
Ingredients
- 6 eggs
- 1/4 cup mayonaisse
- 1 tsp course or stone ground dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon dill relish
- 1/4 tsp sugar
- 2 jalapenos seeded or unseeded according to your heat preference
- 3 tablespoon roasted red peppers
- 1/2 pinch salt do not over-salt
- paprika for garnish
Instructions
- Hard boil and peel eggs.
- Cut eggs in half lengthwise.
- Clean jalapeno. Chop 2 tablespoons for the egg yolk mixture and set aside. Cut the remaining jalapeno into triangles for the "stem" of each pumpkin. You may remove the jalapeno seeds if you wish, or add a few into the egg mixture if you like a little heat. My preference is a little heat.
- In a food processor, combine egg yolks, mayo, dijon mustard, dill relish, sugar, 2 tablespoons chopped jalapenos, roasted red peppers and salt. Blend until smooth.
- Add egg yolk mixture to a piping bag or Ziplock bag. Pipe into each egg white.
- Refrigerate, covered until egg yolk mixture sets – at least 1 hour. All of the above can be done the day before.
- Before serving, use a toothpick to create the lines of the pumpkin. This step is optional, but does help make them look even more like pumpkins. They will be cute either way!
- Add jalapeno triangle to each for the stem.
- Sprinkle with paprika and serve!
HOW TO BOIL EGGS FOR AN EASY PEEL
There are tons of methods for boiling eggs for an easy peel. I’ve tried them all! This is the method that seems to work the best for me.
1.) Start with room temperature eggs.
2.) Place eggs in a sauce pan and add water.
3.) Cover pan with a lid and bring to a boil. When the water starts to boil, remove the lid and let boil for 8 minutes.
4.) Drain and place eggs into an ice bath for 10 minutes. Make sure the eggs are completely covered with water.
5.) Drain ice bath and tap egg shells on each side. You will be able to find a pocket in the membrane to get a nice even peel.
*Side note, I do not have chickens. I buy my eggs from the grocery store. If you have your own chickens, opt for boiling eggs that are a few days old and not fresh straight from the chicken.
FOOD PROCESSOR
Is a food processor necessary to make deviled eggs? Short answer, no. But for this recipe, it is necessary to get an even color from the roasted red peppers. You can also use a small blender if you prefer. I’ve had this food processor for years and love it! I also use it to make these No Bake Cheesecake Lemon Cups.
DEVILED EGG RECIPE
If you’re looking for a deviled egg recipe without the pumpkin shape, you can absolutely make this without the roasted red peppers. It’s my go-to deviled egg recipe and everyone loves it. I love adding a slice of jalapeno to the top of each egg. It’s spicy and gives a nice crunch – so good!

I hope you love these pumpkin shaped deviled eggs! Thanks for stopping by my corner of the internet.
