Valentine’s Day Tablescape 2021

Truth be told…I don’t much care for the month of February. It is by far my least favorite month of the year. Why? Because I live in Iowa. The seven day forecast has words in it like “frigid”, “cloudy” and “wintry mix”. Monday’s high is only supposed to reach -4. The same -4 that is FOUR DEGREES BELOW ZERO. This nonsense has lasted for nearly 7500 days and I for one am sick of it. I know that we live in a society where positivity is held in the highest regard, but I am having a really hard time seeing the upside to four degrees below zero. “It wouldn’t be so bad without the wind-chill!” 🙂 If you know, you know. One of the bright spots this time of year is all the Valentine’s Day posts flooding my social feeds. It’s such a whimsical holiday. When I was growing up, the focus of Valentine’s Day seemed to be centered around romance, but I think the day has evolved to be more inclusive to show love to all the special people in your life. One way to do this is by setting a Valentine’s Day tablescape.

Ya’ll know one of my favorite things to do is setting a beautiful table, so when I spotted this gorgeous tulle fabric, I knew I had to incorporate it into a Valentine’s Day tablescape. I ended up basing the entire table around the tulle and used it as a runner. Then, I pulled together other items from previous Valentine’s Day tables along with fresh flowers and candles.

You may recognize some of the items on the table from last year’s Valentine’s Day tablescape, like the heart shaped name card holders and the pink heart doilies. I love to reuse items and get the most out of every single piece. That’s what being chic(ish) is all about!

You may also recognize the chic(ish) mini boards! In addition to meat/cheese, they are so great for desserts. Head over to The Chic(ish) Market to snag your own boards.

Pops of purple in the fresh flowers really make this table pop against the soft pinks. I think it adds a little bit a of an unexpected twist, too.

If you’re looking to add more food items into your festivities, try a LOVE themed board, like this.

All you need are some cookie cutters. I used the letters to hold the smaller food items like the nuts and candy and then used small heart shaped cutters to cut out the sausage, which is from a great local meat market, ChopLocal. You could also cut out heart shaped cheese.

Now, if pink is not your thing, be sure to check out a table I created a few years ago which is a red lover’s dream!

I sincerely hope this post inspires you to get a little festive this Valentine’s Day.

See ya on the next post.

-The Chic(ish) Chick
